How did Tyra Banks take those gorgeous photos? In Episode 7 of Cycle 5 of America's Next Top Model, Tyra took photos of the contestants with a disposable black and white camera. She put Vaseline on their faces and used a lot of dark eyeliner - and that's all the detail I remember. The pictures were beautiful and she made it look sooooooo easy. Can anyone give me some better details about how she shot these photos?

Tyra wants fierce. What does that mean? In Americas Next Top Model, Tyra Banks is always saying be fierce. One of the models went home, but before that model left Tyra said: "GO home, and study all those model pictures, buy every single magazine there is out there and get those pictures engraved in your mind!" First of all...what exactly is "being fierce" And second, what are good magazines I can study, or some good websites. I've tried some websites, but none of them are what I want. And I don't want to go to the ANTM website and look at past model photos, because some of those are bad...according to Tyra. I just don't know what she wants! Oh, and, before you try out, can anyone tell me what I need to study before I try out. They often ask girls about their favorite designers and favorite models...is there anything else?

Modeling agency and photos? Is it normal for certain modeling agencies to make you get your own photos? I found what seemed to me a decent mostly commercial and talent agency. Their comp photos were decent. They have a small workshop where they go over make-up, hair, picture poses, etc. because you mostly have to do your stuff for commercial or extras. They say that a way to get free photos for cheaper is to take their workshop which includes a mini shoot. It'll be in the 400 dollars range. It is a licensed agency. This agency accepts a wide range of people because different clients want different people. Of course, I don't have the money at this point, but I also think there is no guarantee that you'd get work, so I wonder if it's really worth it spending 400 something dollars for a mini shoot that you may get some bad ones and may not be enough to complete the composite card. Tyra Banks always says that you shouldn't pay for anything. They pay it for you. Is this agency just saving themselves money if they don't believe in you and making money? I wonder where you draw the line with paying for your own photos. Oh MixedMojo chill out! I am just asking for opinions. S*it happens out there in the modeling business, so I can ask what I want, and if you're tired of hearing "women like me" who as the same d*mn s*it over again to make sure what they're getting into, then stop wasting your energy anymore. Who else thinks that Tyra Banks is a Hypocrite? It's funny how Tyra always calls herself being helpful to young women who want to become models by telling them that they do not need to pose nude, or take nude photo's. She then turns around and has an episode of "Top Model", where all of the contestants are required to take nude photo's and when one of the contestants refuses to do so, she is voted off of the show for standing up for what she believes in. She also had the nerve to air one of her talk shows which consisted of young women who were pursuing a modeling career. These young ladies were set up by Tyra to do a photo shoot with a photographer who asked them to take nude photo's. Some of the ladies fell into the trap and took nude photo's, if this wasn't bad enough, Tyra had hidden cameras that recorded the entire shoot. She then confronted the young ladies and showed it on NATIONAL TELEVISION!!!! These young ladies more than likely would have never been put in a situation like this if it had not been for Tyra, and the situation certainly wouldn't have been aired for the whole world to see. But she states she did it for their benefit. What a joke! Tyra claims that she is a big fan of Oprah, but she could never compare. Oprah's show is based upon information that will actually benefit others and not bring harm. Tyra's show is based upon ratings, she could care less who she hurts, even though she tries to ACT so concerned and sincere.

Anyone else think Tyra Banks is a bit of an idiot? Ok now I love America's Next Top Model as much as the next girl and used to really like Tyra Banks but lately I find she just annoys the hell out of me. Anyone else find Tyra Banks' sometimes obnoxious? I used to not mind her, and I enjoy watching top model sometimes. However, does anyone find that on her talk show, and on top model she always finds some way to bring the story back to her life? Is it flattering, or not so flattering? before a person becomes a model, entertainer, etc. the person these days has to be seen as pretty? hot? do you think it is flattering for people to buy calendars of you? want photos of you? buy men's magazines with you on it? our society puts a connotation that bikini modeling, and nude modeling is wrong, but yet the one's who say it is wrong buy into this beauty, products, magazines, calendars, etc. so it makes me wonder- flattering to be a model- or not- flattering for someone to buy magazines of you- want to keep photos of you- or not- in a way it is flattering, but our society makes it where the girl is slutty or whore-ish for having photos? even if the photos are classy- vanessa williams and vanessa hudgens both got backlash from the photos, not to mention i've heard people put down other women like brooke burke, and tyra banks. what about the saying, if you got it flaunt it. however is a person's body just for anyone's eyes- no! that is another reason why i sort of against it because- it would be kind of creepy and gross to know an ugly, old, hairy, bald, or crazy guy just had a photo of you whether in maxim, playboy, etc.

Black/african american models/people please help.....? I'm a part time black model. I'm not trying to be Tyra Banks or Naomi Campbell. I'm just trying to make some decent extra money on the side. The problem I'm running into is I refuse to do nudes, swimsuits, and lingerie shoots. I'm a married woman and I believe only my husband should see me like that. But after looking at other black model's websites and portfolio sites I've found that that's all everyone wants. Every other girl's portfolio looks like a spread from Smooth or Maxim with their butts in the air w/thongs on. I haven't gotten many jobs because my portfolio lacks those types of photos. I love taking pictures and meeting all types of great people in this industry. Why can't I just be a regular model with clothes on? Why do I have to be a "booty" "video chick" model? Should I give in because that the business or just stick to my guns? Or am I just looking in the wrong places for jobs?

Is there a difference between "girls gone wild" and "top models posing nude? I ask this because I watched the Tyra Banks show today and this was her topic. She was objective up untill the subject of girls flashing, was compared to her top model show! then she got offended! I've watched "top model" and they always have the girls pose for some topless photos. Is there a difference and why? I'm a Man by the way. Transgender Isis on America's Next Top Model? What is your opinion on Tyra letting a pre-op transgendered model onto the show? Aside from whether or not you approve of the lifestyle choice, do you think it's fair for her to let someone who is not technically a female into a "traditionally" all-female competition? Do you think it's fair to the other girls? I'm wondering how the transvestite/transgender community feels about this. Was it publicized that Tyra was letting non-traditional females audition for the show? Or was this a special exception? It seems a little discriminatory in both directions, to just let one transgender female onto the show but exclude the other hundreds of thousands who may not have known they were even eligible. And for the other females, is it fair to them? With the occasional nude/girl-on-girl/feminist-related photo shoots, is it fair to have someone who in biological terms is still a male compete? The whole issue seems very distorted, and I'm wondering what Tyra Banks motivation was behind it. As open-minded as she may be coming off, I have a hunch everything is just a big publicity/ratings stunt. You obviously misunderstood the question. I'm not asking for personal opinions on whether transgenders are right/wrong. And a lifestyle choice is any way you choose to live your life. So yes, being a male and living female would be a choice. I'm sure if a modelesque transvestite walked into a casting before this season, they would be laughed out of the room. What about all the cross dressers and transgenders who are as beautiful as Isis? Why haven't they clarified what their entrance requirements are, and stated that they are open to any auditioner (regardless of gender) who has the look of a female model?

They were interviewing one of the girls and even though she had been in so many spreads and in lots of magazines, alll she got was $150 a day. Also Tyra Banks said she got $150 for her sports illustrated photo. Like WTF?...wasn't she like the first black woman to b on the cover?.. 1. What is the song that plays at the end of every show of America's Next Top Model? I'm a guy and, even though I'm not sure if modeling does anything to improve the world, I love the entertainment value of the show and the character and personality of Tyra Banks (unlike some public stars, she seems like a person I would want to know). That show can make me laugh and fight tears too. I've recently gotten into watching ANTM (currently watching season 3) and I love the song they play at the end of every show when a girl gets eliminated from the photo of all the finalists, which has a soft rock quality to it.
