Got tips to draw a proportional human in a strange position? 3d models perhaps?
I'm trying to redraw a female fairy picture someone drew but in more detail. I want it in the same position they drew it in but I can't get the shoulders quite right when compared to the head and neck because of the angle it was originally drawn. Does anyone have any tips? Or maybe a 3d model that can be positioned so I can see how this will work? Dont have anyone to pose for me and I'm really out of practice.

- if you want a proportional human then look at the female fairy and take in Picasso, Francis Bacon and african masks into consideration. Picasso makes his work really bright and separates his different colours by vivid lines!and francis bacon does them different to other people he like puts the eye in the forehead. African masks use simplified forms for e.g. use a square as an eye and triange as a nose. GO WILD!
- get one of those anatomically correct figures that can be bent and positioned. or try the fibonachi sequence. :)
- There is a product called Virtual Pose, which gives you a series of virtual human models which you can rotate in your screen. I like this tool because you have several poses, and you can observe your models in positions that would be difficult to achieve in real life. Check it out. SkinnyJeff
- I agree with the second reply. You can get a posable wooden figure at an art store for about $20, or even less, and it will really help you visualize what you're trying to do.
